How to Create a Marigold Planter Box for your Patio

Choosing Your Container:

 

  •  Choose a rectangular planter box that is approximately 60 cm long and 20 cm wide 
  •  Planter must have several drainage holes in the bottom
  •  Planter can be made of a variety of materials including terracotta, stone, wood, plastic or cement
  • Lighter coloured containers will help with overheating on very hot patios 
  •  

    Choosing Healthy Marigold Plants:

    • Look for healthy, lush plants with bright green leaves
    • Avoid Marigold plants with brown or wilting leaves
    • Choose leafy, bushy plants with lots of flower buds
    • Frech, dwarf Marigolds are perfect for patio boxes
